Pasta Grazie!

A classic Italian-American dish consisting of spaghetti and meatballs cooked in a delicious tomato sauce.

Spaghetti with Meatballs

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for cooking
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cans (28 ounces each) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions
 

  • Cook spaghetti according to package instructions.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, egg, parsley, milk, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix well and form into meatballs.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove meatballs from skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add onion and cook until softened.
  • Add crushed tomatoes, basil, and oregano.
  • Simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Return meatballs to skillet and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Serve meatballs and sauce over cooked spaghetti.
